CamCrusher operates the CamCrusher mobile applications and the website www.CamCrusher.com (collectively, the “Services”). 1. Information We Collect
We collect three main types of information:
A. Information you provide directly
- Email address, phone number, and password when you create an account
- Username, profile photo, and optional vehicle details
- Traffic-camera reports, route updates, voice/audio files, and messages you send through the Services
- Communications with us or other users through the Services
B. Information collected automatically when you use the Services
- Precise geolocation data and route history (GPS signals combined with timestamps)
- Background location (only if you explicitly enable it) to alert you about upcoming cameras
- Device identifiers, operating system, battery level, crash reports, and usage patterns
- Voice and audio information when you use voice commands
- Usage data (features used, time spent, navigation paths, search queries, ads viewed/clicked)
- Background location (if you enable it) to send traffic-camera alerts even when the app is closed
- Voice and audio if you use any voice features
- Payment data processed directly by Stripe (we never see your full card number)
- Aggregated analytics from measurement partners
- IP address and approximate location
- Advertising identifiers, cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies
- Information from third-party accounts when you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or another provider (e.g., name, email, profile picture)
C. Payment processing
We use Stripe, Inc. (“Stripe”) to process payments for purchases made through our website. When you provide payment information, it is transmitted directly to Stripe and is processed in accordance with Stripe’s own Privacy Policy (available at https://stripe.com/privacy).
Stripe may collect personal information such as your name, email address, billing address, payment card information, and transaction details in order to process your payment. Stripe processes this information as an independent data controller for the purpose of providing its payment services. CamCrusher does not receive, store, or have access to your full payment card details.

D. Information from third parties
We may also receive information from advertising and analytics partners to better understand overall app performance, or how users interact with our ads or Services on other
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Services, including real-time traffic-camera alerts, navigation, route guidance
- Improve the accuracy of maps, traffic-camera locations, and alerts using crowd-sourced and aggregated data
- Personalize your experience (e.g., remembering frequent or favorite destinations, added camera locations, and suggesting optimal routes)
- Conduct research, analytics, and product development to understand how the Services are used and to create new features
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical problems
- Communicate with you, including service announcements, push notifications, support responses, and (only with your consent) marketing or promotional messages
- Serve and measure advertising (where applicable) and evaluate the performance of our own marketing campaigns
- Create aggregated or anonymized data that cannot identify you
- Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, or property of CamCrusher, our users, or others
3. When and Why We Share Your Information
CamCrusher does not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising purposes.
We only share personal information in the following limited circumstances:
- With trusted service providers (cloud hosting, analytics, push notifications) who are bound by contract to protect your data
- When you submit a public report — your username and the report content become visible to other users
- With third-party services you explicitly connect or choose to share with (e.g., social networks or sign-in providers)
- With Stripe for payment processing (as described above)
- With law enforcement or authorities when required by law, or to prevent imminent harm
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of CamCrusher, our users, or the public
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or bankruptcy (the successor entity must adhere to this policy)
- Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot identify you (e.g., traffic patterns shared with municipalities or map partners)
4. Aggregated and Anonymized Information
We may create aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified data from the information we collect (including location and route data). This data can no longer identify you or your device. We use and share this aggregated or anonymized information for any lawful purpose, including:
- Improving our maps, traffic-camera database, routing algorithms, and overall service quality
- Conducting research and developing new features
- Sharing traffic patterns, road conditions, or usage statistics with cities, municipalities, mapping partners, researchers, or other third parties
- Measuring the performance of advertising and marketing campaigns
- Other internal analytics and business purposes
Because this information does not identify individuals, we may share or publish it freely without restriction.
5. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
You may:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal information
- Turn off location services in your device settings at any time
- Delete your account in the app (we will delete or anonymize your data within 30 days)
- Opt out of marketing emails/SMS by clicking “Unsubscribe” or replying STOP
- Manage push notifications and other preferences directly in the app settings
U.S. State Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of a U.S. state with comprehensive privacy laws (including but not limited to California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas), you have additional rights, including:
- Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
- Receive a portable copy of your data
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete your personal information
- Opt out of targeted advertising or profiling in certain contexts
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we only use precise geolocation to provide core navigation and alerts)
We will never discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to submit a request
To submit a request, e-mail privacy@CamCrusher.com. We will verify your identity (usually by matching your email and recent account activity) and respond within the legal timeframe (typically 45 days). Requests are free.
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals for opt-out of sale/sharing.

We do not sell or “share” (for cross-context behavioral advertising) any personal information. We do not offer discounts, rewards, or any financial incentives in exchange for collecting, selling, or retaining your personal information.
6. Data Retention
We keep your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or as required or permitted by law.
Examples of retention periods (these are illustrative and may change):
- Account data (email, phone, profile, route history): retained while your account is active; deleted or anonymized within 30 days of account deletion or your deletion request
- Traffic-camera reports and public contributions: may be kept indefinitely in anonymized form to improve maps and safety, even after you delete your account
- Payment and transaction records: retained for up to 7 years (or as required for tax, accounting, and audit purposes)
- Crash logs and technical diagnostics: up to 90 days
- Analytics and usage data: retained in identified form only as long as needed; converted to anonymized/aggregated form for longer-term use
Some data you can delete yourself at any time through the app settings. After account deletion or a deletion request, most personal information is removed within 30 days, but we may retain limited data longer when necessary for:
- Security, fraud prevention, or abuse detection
- Legal or regulatory compliance
- Financial record-keeping
- Protecting the rights or safety of CamCrusher, our users, or the public
Anonymized or aggregated data (which can no longer identify you) may be retained indefinitely for research, map improvements, and other legitimate purposes.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Services are for licensed drivers only and are not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the relevant age. If we discover any such data, we will delete it immediately. Report any concerns to support@camcrusher.com.
8. International Data Transfers
We and our service providers may store and process your information in the United States or any other country where we or they operate. Data-protection laws vary by country, and some countries may offer less protection than your home country.
Whenever your personal information is transferred across borders, we use legally recognized safeguards.
9. Security
We take the security of your information seriously and use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative measures designed to protect it from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100 % secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
10. Cookies & Similar Technologies
Our mobile apps and website use cookies, device identifiers, advertising IDs, local storage, and similar tracking technologies for the following purposes:
- Essential: To make the Services work (e.g., keep you logged in, remember your preferences, provide navigation and alerts)
- Analytics: To understand how the Services are used and improve them (e.g., crash reports, usage statistics)
- Advertising (if we show any advertising, you will have the opportunity to opt-out): To show relevant ads and measure their performance
You can control these technologies at any time:
- On the website: through your browser settings (most browsers let you block or delete cookies)
- In the mobile apps: through your device settings → “Privacy” → “Advertising” (to limit or reset advertising IDs) or in the CamCrusher app settings (for analytics and personalized ads)
- California residents: We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). We only disclose limited personal information (such as billing details) to service providers like our payment processor (e.g., Stripe) strictly for business purposes, such as processing transactions. These disclosures do not constitute a “sale” or “sharing” and do not give rise to an opt-out right for sale/sharing.
Disabling some of these technologies may limit certain features (e.g., personalized routes or ads-free experience).
We will never discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the ‘Last Updated’ date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information. Material changes you will be notified via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
